Maybe, like me, you’ve spent the last forty-something years building a career, raising kids and trying to keep a patient husband interested in living with an over-scheduled, OCD road warrior with anxiety issues. Now retired, I can explore the world without the pressure of the ”gotta get there on time” and enjoy the luxury of serendipitous travel discoveries.
University study in Fribourg, Switzerland with a French curriculum and a diploma in Russian language and history whet my appetite. Backpack adventures fueled a cultural introduction to Europe, the Middle East and Great Britain. And since then, I’ve explored China, Russia, Canada, Southeast Asia, Africa, the UK and every country in western Europe. in 2022 I returned to Switzerland, adding Austria to the mix. A couple of weeks in Spain and Portugal, a wonderful tour of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg, a few weeks in France and then on to Israel, Jordan and Morocco. Last year included adventures in the Baltic countries and Poland, southern Italy, a tour around Iceland, Ecuador, the Amazon jungle and the Galapagos Islands, then on to India and Nepal. This year I am visiting South Africa and Zimbabwe, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Japan, the Dalmatian Isles, Slovenia and Croatia, finishing the year with an adventure in Peru! And 2025 visits begin with the Great Pyramids of Egypt, then on to eastern South America and the glaciers of Patagonia, Uzbekistan, the Balkan countries and a fall trip to Turkey. Come along!
